Common Questions
Why should I book direct?
Booking direct with Happy Crab Vacations means no service fees — unlike Airbnb or VRBO which charge $300–$700+ in fees. Your cost is simply the rental, taxes, cleaning, and a 3% credit card booking fee.
What is the cancellation policy?
All cancellations have a $100 fee. Full refund if cancelled 45+ days before arrival, 50% refund if 14–45 days, no refund within 14 days. Hurricane mandatory evacuation gets a full refund. Travel insurance is recommended.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 4 PM (door codes activate), check-out is 10 AM (codes expire). Early check-in or late check-out is available for $25/hour with 48 hours notice.
Are EV charging stations available?
None of our properties currently have EV charging stations.
Is there a minimum stay?
Most properties require a minimum 3-night stay, though this may vary by season and property.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards. A 3% booking fee applies for credit card payments.
Internet Access
WIFI is available at all properties. Speeds vary by location.
WIFI network name and password information are included in the arrival information email.
Parking Policy
Parking is free at all locations.
Parking passes must be visible on dash or hanging from rear view mirror.
Each reservation receives 2 parking permits unless property listing specifies otherwise. Some smaller properties only allow 1 and some larger properties allow 3.
This is all included in the listing and/or arrival packet.
TOWING IS ENFORCED and COSTLY. All costs related to tow are paid by the guest.
Pet Policy
Pets are not allowed unless property descripton states otherwise.
If pets are allowed, pet fees are required and vary based on location and length of stay.
Occupancy Limits
Occupancy limits are established at the county government level for fire and safety reasons.
Happy Crab Vacations is required to enforce these guidelines. Each listed property includes maximum guest information.
Exceeding the occupancy limit will result in immediate cancellaton of booking and guests will be required to vacate premises.
Rental Agreement must include names of each guest.
Quiet Time Ordinances
Quiet hours are from 11 PM–7 AM. During these hours, it is illegal to make excessive, unnecessary, or loud noises that disturb others.
What is considered excessive noise?
Yelling, shouting, hooting, whistling, or singing Repetitive or sustained noise that is audible beyond the property line Noise that disturbs the peace or general public What are the consequences for violating the noise ordinance?

The noise ordinance also regulates the broadcast of vulgar and obscene sounds into public spaces Sound equipment must be as quiet as a whisper from 7:01 AM–10:59 PM Sound levels must be 50 decibels from 11 PM–7 AM
Smoking Policy
Smoking or Vaping is strictly prohibited on the property, and any violation will incur a $300 fine in addition to the cleaning fee. Should there be any lingering tobacco or cannabis smell after your departure, an extra smoke remediation cleaning fee will be applied.
Please note that the use of oil lamps and incense is not permitted due to the long-lasting odor they may leave behind. Failure to comply with these policies will result in an additional charge for excessive cleaning.
Amenities Policy
Pool Passes and/or Wristband requirements vary by location. This information will be in your information packet email.
If required these will be found in the residence most often on the kitchen counter.
For properties featuring a workout facility the door code will be provided in the information packet as well.
Hosting Events
Hosting events or parties is not allowed on our property. We have implemented this policy to prioritize the safety and comfort of all our guests.
